WHAT ARE INDUSTRIAL AIR CONDITIONERS?
Industrial air conditioners provide the additional cooling required by hot, industrial applications. Standard air conditioners cool air 15 to 20 degrees F, while industrial air conditioners will cool inlet air 30 to 50 degrees F. High pressure fans allow industrial air conditioners to push cold air through long duct lengths. Construction of industrial air conditioners is rugged to endure the abuse of moving, lifting and jarring that occur on job sites.
WHY USE INDUSTRIAL AIR CONDITIONERS?
When hot working conditions require cooling, you need industrial air conditioners. The deep cooling provided with industrial air conditioners can also dry the air. This combination of cold and dry provides a higher level of comfort. A space doesn’t have to be cooled to 70 degrees to provide worker comfort. Even 80 degrees is comfortable to work in when air is dry. Low humidity keeps clothes and skin dry, so workers feel comfortable.
WHEN TO USE INDUSTRIAL AIR CONDITIONERS?
When outdoor air is being cooled, industrial air conditioners are the right equipment choice. These applications include dusty, or distant spaces or spaces that require slight pressurization to limit air infiltration. Industrial air conditioners are also needed if air in the space is hot (above 85 degrees F) and being returned to the air conditioner. Standard air conditioners are designed to pull air from a building, cool it by 15 to 20 degrees F and return it to the building. When applied to industrial applications, standard equipment is quickly overloaded by excessive heat.
SEASONAL HUMIDITY ISSUES
High summer humidity and condensation causes manufacturing issues for many products and processes. Heavy-duty, industrial, refrigerant dehumidifiers deliver temperature control and dry air. Portable dehumidifiers can be located near the problem area to supply dry air directly to the problem.
DRY OUTSIDE AIR
Hot, humid outside air is dried to 40°F range. Air is delivered either cool (45°F) or warm (90°F) with the flip of a switch, or thermostat control. Refrigeration is energy efficient and easy to maintain. Cold air holds less water vapor. Subcooled Air (40°F) is twice as dry as standard air conditioners that cool to 58°F.
